We Have Cable
Finally, after over 14 months of not having cable television Shannon and I have taken the plunge. This decision was partially motivated by our missing the first half of the IU game during last weekend's dinner party (which led us to travel to a local bar in search of static-free television sets).
The cable guy, a nice short fellow from [company name removed], stopped by this morning to do the deed. Here's how everything went down:
Me: Hello, can I help you with anything?
Him: Nope, I got it covered. Thanks.
[awkward silence]
Him: Tell you what - looks like you ordered basic cable. If you want to give me $20 I can give you all the channels for free.
Me: Cash ok?
Him: Yup, cash will do just fine.
So now we have some 40+ "extra" channels (MTV, Food TV, CNN, Fx, OLN, History, Discovery, etc.), which brings us a litte closer to the rest of the world (who have more than the measly 60 channels we now have). Best twenty dollars I have ever spent.
