A Beer a Day Keeps Heart Disease Away
Danish scientists have found that moderate drinking (1-2 drinks per day) can help reduce the risk of heart disease for men:
The researchers studied the effects of alcohol on more than 50,000 men and women over more than five years. Men in the study who drank one day a week had a 7 percent reduced risk of heart disease compared to non-drinkers, but daily moderate drinkers were 41 percent less likely to suffer from heart disease.
Women showed a smaller reduction in heart disease incidence, though for them it did not matter how much they drank per week (as long as it was not excessive). So have a beer or two tonight - it might save your life.
