Yesterday was my birthday - I am now just two years away from 30. I celebrated the day with Heather and Bob, who surprised me with a cake, ice cream, and beer (yum!). Thank you Bob and Heather!
To address questions that may arise from my lack of “birthday spirit”: I personally don’t like to celebrate my birthday. Nothing bad happened to me during childhood or anything (in fact, I have a lot of great birthday memories from my youth). But these days I find the most satisfying celebration to be laid back and relaxed. I’m sure I’ll have a big blowout party one of these years, but for now this was more than enough for me.
To address questions that may arise due to my scruffy looking face: No, I did not forget to wash my face. Yes, I am trying to grow a beard (it has only been a week). Yes, I realize it looks silly right now.
did you get my email? if so, thanks for the reply. appreciate it.
Yes, I got your email (thanks!). I thought I wrote you back (maybe not) - did you not get my response?
I’m sorry I missed your Birthday! I love you and miss you so much - can’t wait to see you soon (but not soon enough).
just giving you a hard time dude. no response but not a big deal.
Hey Mike,
HAPPY BIRHTDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
happy birthday (again)
Hi Mike,
I got your email with the link to the class of 97 gym picture (YIKES that’s scary!) and discovered your blog. I thought I’d check out the past entries and saw this one and had to say that you had one of the most memorable birthday parties I recall from growing up. I don’t know how old you were, but I remember showing up at your house expecting a regular cake, games, open presents sort of deal, but then the Boilermaker Special showed up and took us somewhere cool, I think Skate Away, but my memory may be fading a bit. Anyway, it rocked!
Hope all is well with you!
