Nerd tan linesI (somewhat) regularly read a site of IRC quotes, where people post funny conversations that occurred in chat rooms.

The conversations are almost always between computer literate 15 to 25-year-old males, so you can imagine how vulgar and juvenile they typically become. Regardless I find enough funny clips to keep me entertained, if only from the anthropological perspective of viewing this subculture of semi-anonymous geek chatters.

Here are a few recent quotes that made me chuckle:

sir_dilla: man, i suck at this game. can you give me a few pointers?
samson: 0×3A28213A, 0×6339392C, 0×7363682E
sir_dilla: i hate you

Raize: can you guys see what I type?
vecna: no, raize
Raize: How do I set it up so you can see it?

Toba: how can you be decidedly and forcefully indifferent?
est: I DON’T CARE

reptile: The first time hypr opened a box of Cheerios and looked inside he yelled, “OH WOW! DONUT SEEDS!”
hypr: wtf are donut seeds

Before this post some people might be worried that, now that I have a child and the great responsibility of raising said child, I could possibly lose my inner geek. Worry no more.

  • You're hitting the sweet spot for ratings -- pointer jokes and baby pictures!
  • Alex
I don't get the pointers.... I JUST DON'T GET IT
  • On the off-chance you care, those hexidecimal numbers are considered addresses in computer memory, otherwise known as "pointers" which "point" to a specific location in memory.

    It's a geek joke.
