The Singing Revolution

This movie trailer hit me like a slug to the chest. Imagine the pain felt when loved ones are killed: an overwhelming need for revenge and justice. Now imagine people who have been so wronged, people who have every right to seek out and punish those who destroyed their lives, to take that hatred and transform it into something even more powerful: hope.

I don't know if I'm hormonally charged right now or what, but this trailer for the upcoming movie "The Singing Revolution" made me cry like a little baby. There is so much hatred in this world, and so many people dying unnecessarily. I don't think the solution is more death.

I’m thinking that you may be interested in the book: Nonviolence by Mark Kurlansky. My Dad gave it to me, I just read it, and its very thought provoking. One thing that you learn right away is that there is no active word for “nonviolence” in any language that is not the negation of “violence”. Pacifism is not active, nonviolence is. I highly recommend the book if you’ve got some spare reading time.
