Grocery Shopping

Here's a cameraphone shot of Libby shopping at Trader Joes:
Shopping at Trader Joe's market

Trader Joes does a lot right when it comes to customer experience, especially for families. They provide kid-sized shopping carts, have friendly staff, and give balloons away at checkout. Oh yeah, and they sell two buck chuck and awesome food too :) .

Kirk vs. Cristina

Kirk "crocoduck" Cameron has made a video with Ray "the banana guy" Comfort about a free "Origin of the Species" book give away that Ray is organizing. In short, this book giveaway is just a ploy to push creationism into schools (again).

A YouTuber by the name of Cristina opens a can of ass-whoppin' on the recently released video:

Ray Comfort is quite an "interesting" fellow. If you have not done so you should watch his debate with ThunderF00t (it's a long debate, but pretty good). Also make sure to read the Damn Interesting article about how the present-day banana came to be (hint: Ray Comfort is embarrassingly wrong).

Strange Bubbling Watermelon

I've documented some weird food issues before (e.g. the Dr. Pepper incident and the black bean incident). Turns out our watermelons are strange too:

This particular melon was purchased 4 days before the video was shot, and we ate it's brother melon (they come in two packs) the previous day with no incident (other than that alien thingy jumping out of my stomach). Any ideas on whats going on here?

CNN’s Rick Sanchez Calls Out Fox News

Make sure to watch the whole clip. I particularly like it when he points out the difference between "covering" news and "promoting" news:

Here [are] the facts. We did cover the event. What we didn't do was promote the event. Just like when thousands marched on Washington to protest the war in Iraq we covered it as well - probably not as much as this event. But we didn't promote it. [...] That's not what real news organizations are supposed to do. We covered it. We didn't promote it. I invite you [Fox News] to look into the distinction between those two words.

This is exactly what Fox News likes to do - tell a lie, get a lot of press over it, then apologize. Fewer people will hear the apology (and thus the lie lives on). Faux News indeed.
