What better way to spend a birthday than playing games of bean-toss (aka “corn hole”) while drinking beer and hanging out with friends? That’s exactly how Sarah spent her 30th, and it was a fabulously relaxing evening.
It was really good to see everyone - in particular I must say that Heather was looking great! She is probably in labor right now (she went in last night to be induced), so keep her and Bob in your thoughts!
A special thanks to Steve for some great pictures of Libby!
This fourth of July was a lot of fun - we spent the evening with our good friends Helena, Nate, and their beautiful daughter Elin. It was so nice seeing fireworks and spending some relaxed time with friends and neighbors.
You may notice that the album format has changed slightly. It’s not perfect yet, but at least it’s a start toward something better. The links for “fullsize” images may not work yet because they are still uploading (about 1 gigabyte left).
I just posted a new album from Memorial Day. We spent a nice, long, lazy weekend with Shannon’s parents, relaxing and visiting with family and friends.
Today was a gorgeous day, and we spent most of it (about 5 hours) wandering around the Zionsville Country Market.
There were the typical booths you might find at any number of country markets: kettle corn, face painters, tie-dyed t-shirts, plants and flowers galore. Oddly enough the market also two Indian pan flute musicians - I almost bought a CD from one of the guys who was playing what can only be described as the “elevator music” version of No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak.” We also discovered a few cool booths showcasing some local talent, like the super cute Lucky Ducky Designs and a couple others.
Libby was in fine form, sleeping for most of the day and enjoying a bottle (of milk) under a big elm tree. Is it just me, or does our daughter look like a little Napoleon or perhaps Washington crossing the Delaware in this picture?
I have posted a new album of us spending Mother’s Day afternoon at Nate and Helena’s new house in Indianapolis. It was a gorgeous day to sit in the shade under a huge tree and just enjoy some time with kids (both ours and our friends).
We had a tasty brunch filling our faces with casserole, french toast, bagels, and fruit salad. Us guys were outnumbered 10:4, which is probably how it’s going to be (at least for the next couple of years).
This past Saturday we spent a wonderful afternoon with friends celebrating Grace’s first birthday. It was a good party and a gorgeous day - cake and ice cream just tastes better in the sun.
I just posted a new album of pictures taken over last weekend. Betsy and her wonderful daughter Hailey came down to visit us for a couple of days and were even able to spend an afternoon at the zoo.
Since we live farther away now it was great to see and spend some time with Betsy and Hailey (and wish we got to see Chad too)!
Just posted a new album of pictures we took over Easter - nothing particularly exciting, just family shots and more of Libby with her rabbit ears.
This past weekend I had the privilege of being a groomsman in Brent and Heather’s wedding in Jasper, Indiana. For those of you who may not know, Jasper is probably best known for their celebrated German heritage (aka “drinking”), so you can imagine how I felt on Sunday morning.
We wish Heather and Brent the very best in the future; may you continue to love and honor each other all the days of your lives.
Shannon and Susan were able to spend a few days saying hello to the Pope and taking a lot of architecture pictures. See the album here.
On a side note: You might notice that a few of the pictures originally posted in the Venice album have now been moved to their rightful place (in either Barcelona or Rome/Vatican city).
