The Greatest Extra of All Time
It's like playing "Where's Waldo" in real life:
His name is Jesse Heinman, but to me he will always be "that guy."

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Libby, Shannon, and I had a great visit to the Purdue campus this past weekend to watch a performance of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" (and other Eric Carle stories). We went with my parents and Libby's cousin Kaia. The three plays were pretty neat - they were all done in the dark with black lights:
One of the highlights to any Purdue visit is the underground network of tunnels - they make for great echoing. Here's a cell phone shot of the girls shouting down one of the longer stretches:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1)
I was lucky enough last night to get into a sneak preview of the seventh Harry Potter movie, "The Deathly Hallows". It will be released into theaters this coming Friday. Many thanks to Mikey V for bringing me along with him.
This movie was, by far, the best Harry Potter movie to date. Because it only covered half of the final Potter book the pace was slowed down enough to feel more like a movie and less like a confusing jumble of plot points and thrill rides.
Some bright points:
- Darker themes and more mature storyline.
- Great chemistry between the trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
- Much improved house-elf animation (particularly the facial expressions of "Creature").
