The Donut

Two donuts appeared in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not eat both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked at one as far as I could
To where it laid in the sugar coat;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better filling,
Because it was doughy and wanted teeth;

Had worn them really about the same,

I just wanted to share a snapshot of a very full day of meetings - do other people's "busy" days look like this, or am I a statistical outlier?!

Want icing on this cake? Tech support says the whole problem is due to a Windows update that they distributed themselves. Argh!

I do not want to repeat this Gluttonfest. The first bite was quite enjoyable, oh sure... but then the cold headache kicks in and your teeth begin to ache, not to mention your stomach swirling around with dairy and cookie dough for the rest of the day.

There is video of the event, so I won't give away who won this competition. For now feast your eyes upon the quiet before the storm:

Whoever wins I know one thing for certain: my wife is so proud of me right now.

We played a Texas Hold-Em tournament with a $10 buy-in with a winner-take-all pot (we also gave $5 to the first player out for the half-ass effort). To make sure play did not continue for too long we doubled the blinds every 30-45 minutes. I think a good time was had by all.

The prizes they raffle off are usually quite nice - this year the grand prize was a trip for 2 to Vegas with $400 in spending money. Other prizes included a Nintendo Wii, Colts ticket packets, and hundreds of dollars in gift certificates.

I snapped the picture in this post using my phone because our dealer deserves some serious props - she kept "accidentally" showing us the next card in Blackjack and had us in stitches throughout the evening. Unfortunately, despite her best efforts to win us lots of money, we didn't end up winning anything in the raffle. Oh well... there is always next year!
